Shout out to Tracey, amazing patron at the reception. Keep your student card handy for concession entry at $10 (Adults). Wonderful experience and a recommended day trip with family from Sydney. Has tons of history to show; dating all the way back to 1869. Usual trip to this Museum, I would say give atleast 3 hours if planning your trip. There is a cafe inside, you can have some quick snacks and coffee in designated area. You really won't have lots of souvenir options here which is a downside, wish they had some locomotive models at a reasonable price.Overall, 5 star experience. Totally recommended.
Great place to experience older trains and learn about the history. Nice facility with lots for the kids to see and do. Historic train rides on the weekends. Not the best place to visit if you dont like walking
Cool place to spend a few hours... heaps of locos and rolling stock.. although very dry static displays...They have a cool railcar doing rides every hour and well worth the entry/ride fee...
Great places for everyone. Lot of history and lot of fun. Can spend 3hrs here. Ample parking spaces outsides the museum. Learn n fun! Close to Thirlmere suburb n berrylicious strawberries farm. Can spend whole day in this two places .
Absolutely incredible. Spent a while exploring here before my steam train ride from Thirlmere to Buxton and back again. Highly recommended for the price and the experience. I went back into the museum after to take more photos. Presented exceptionally well with loads and loads of information on each vehicle. Too many great pics to post! Please go.
