Nice little sitting area just around the corner from Railway Museum. Decent play areas, clean toilet facilities. Perhaps a commendable job by the local council.

A popular, well-equipped and regularly maintained little recreation area. It's handy to the school, the post office, the newsagent, plus several take-away food outlets, and the pub. Just around the corner is a supermarket, and a busy coffee and pastry shop. The toilet block has recently been replaced; a long-overdue upgrade. This park is the site of the local war-memorial, hence its name, and during the Steam Festival in March, it's the hub of all the activity. The Miner's Memorial Music Shelter provides a stage for live music. You'd better like Country and Western, though.Plenty of play equipment for the little ones, benches and picnic tables for dining or resting, a drinking fountain, and a barbecue. Dogs on leash only.
